How do cosmetic dentures differ from regular dentures?

Regular dentures are a fantastic solution for the replacement of missing teeth. However, many patients are concerned their standard dentures look too perfect and that others may be able to tell they’re prosthetic.

Cosmetic dentures undergo an in-depth design process to make them look more realistic. They can be tailored to each patient’s individual wishes, which may include a slightly crooked appearance or mild discolouration.

How does the process work?

Aside from the additional work that takes place during the design phase, the fitting procedure for cosmetic dentures is the same as conventional ones.

How long do cosmetic dentures last?

At Appleton Park Dental, we only work with restorations of the highest quality, but dentures will eventually need to be replaced. We recommend replacing your dentures every 5 to 8 years. Dentures can experience wear and tear due to regular use and your gums may change shape or shrink over the years.
