Identifying a dental emergency can sometimes be a challenge.
We are of the opinion that if you are not sure, it’s always better to get in touch with us to check – an emergency check-up could potentially save your tooth from needing to be taken out and reduce the possibility of needing on-going dental treatment.
Examples of a dental emergency include:
Step 1: Contacting us
Please contact us as early as you can during the daytime. This will ensure you secure a same-day appointment.
Step 2: Telephone advice
One of our friendly receptionists will ask you to describe your symptoms. They may request that you take a call from one of our dentists whilst you wait for your emergency dental appointment slot. The dentist may offer tips on how to soothe the pain and stop any bleeding.
Step 3: Your emergency dentist appointment
Your dentist will diagnose the origin of the pain and dental emergency. The primary objective is to stop the pain and control any infection, swelling or bleeding present.
We may wish to see you again, especially if you require restorative treatment for a broken or infected tooth. You may also be prescribed a course of antibiotics or painkillers.
Our clinical team will treat you with the utmost care during your emergency appointment and encourage you to contact them again if you’re unsure about anything after your appointment.
